Server Farm & Data Centre Design

Architecture, capacity and facility planning — with green as a design criterion, not an option.

We design the physical and logical architecture of server farms and data centres built for scalability, efficiency and resilience. It is the experience gained building our own zero-emission green data centre, put to work on our clients' projects — up to the Zero Emission Data Center solution: DCs powered by renewables, with optimised PUE and DCIM monitoring.

The package, in four phases

01 · Analysis

Site infrastructure assessment, BIA, DRP definition, feasibility study and market comparison.

02 · Design

Architecture design, subsystem engineering, implementation plan and capacity planning.

03 · Build

Supply of hardware and licences, system set-up, configuration, testing and kick-off.

04 · Support

Operation (if required), maintenance and ongoing support over time.

A project's journey, from listening to operations

The phases of the package, seen as a real project lives them: it starts with the client's requirements, the design takes shape on paper, the build makes it real, commissioning brings it into production — and from there, day-to-day operations begin.

From the client's requirements to a data centre in operation

Illustrative animation of the project journey, in five stages: gathering requirements with the client (critical processes, BIA, RTO/RPO, power, space, budget); the detailed design taking shape as a drawing — layout, power, cooling, capacity planning; the build — raised floor, racks, UPS and cooling; going into production with commissioning, load testing, failover and go-live; and finally operations: 24×7×365 NOC monitoring, SLAs, maintenance and continuous improvement.

What we look after every day

  • Technology refresh and investment protection
  • Lower operating and maintenance costs
  • Increased processing and storage capacity, replication
  • Reduced vendor lock-in, migrating data and applications to more efficient platforms

Networking & communications

  • LAN, WAN and virtual networks (VLANs); load balancing
  • D/DoS prevention and perimeter protection; DNS & proxy
  • Corporate Wi-Fi
  • VoIP, instant messaging & presence, video conferencing
